Hong Kong has a lot of budget friendly activities for families here are our top 5 activities to do this weekend!!
Now all you have to do is decide what to do first?
1. Tai Tong organic eco park
A guaranteed fun day out! Currently strawberries are in season, so you can pick until your hearts content! After you are done picking there are plenty of other activities to choose from including pony rides, children’s car rides and the kids can even feed the animals. There will be no having to persuade the little ones to go to bed after this day out they will be exhausted.
Where: 11 Tai Tong Shan Road, Yuen Long, Hong Kong.
2. Pik Shan path walk
Just above the bustling Sai Ying Pun neighbourhood you will find yourself fully immersed within nature. There is a concrete path which makes this a perfect walk for easing young hikers into outdoor activities. With the surrounding forest you really feel like you are in a hidden world. Definitely bring a packed lunch for this one, sit back and enjoy the views.
Where: Starting at Lung Fu Shan Environmental Education Centre and finishing at Pok Fu Lam Road Playground
3. Harbour arts sculptor park
This is Hong Kong’s first International sculpture park and it is the perfect day out for the whole family! The pieces are showcased by the Hong Kong Arts Centre and there are 21 sculptures done by 19 incredibly talented artists. The pieces are available to view on the harbour front starting in Central and going to Wan Chai.
Where: Central Harbourfront, 9 Lung Wo Rd, Central, and Wan Chai Harbourfront, Fenwick Pier Navy Shopping Centre, 1 Lung King St, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
4. Wishing well festival
After the excitement of Chinese New Year, the Wishing Well Festival gives us the chance to see all the floats from the Chinese New Year Parade. The parade troops even do a performance! To add to the excitement the kids can make wishes on the Wishing Trees, this Chinese tradition is for good luck. This truly is a beautiful experience.
Where: Lam Tsuen,Hong Kong (take the MTR)
5. Spring Lantern exhibition
This something that is best seen at night, it is a very colourful and exciting exhibition. Expect to see zodiac animals, goldfish, cartoons and many more. It is one of the most celebrated events for the Chinese New Year. My personal favourite thing about this exhibition is there will be cultural things for your kids to do, including lantern making, Chinese painting and paper cutting. We here at Baby Central love nothing more than learning about local traditions!
Where: TST, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Tung Chung North Park, Hong Kong Velodrome Park, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
